Early morning work... perfecting sitting (specifically, sitting while reaching for things and not falling over) as well as turning the spoon around. I would always give it to him with the round edge up to put in his mouth, and now he has perfected turning it around to get the zebra end.
wow.

Happy Birhtday to US!
For those of you that don't know, Sebastian and I share a birthday (he's one year older than I)... and yes, this was our first time celebrating our birthday together!!!!

How exciting!

On Sunday we had a day full of eating, family and fun. First a leaserly brunch with Phillip (Sebas' twin, who, of course, was also celebrating) Petra, Jona - who is now like 10 months old I think, so cute. Then Friends came over and before we could even clear brunch things, the grill was started and the bbq began...(pic above: gill moved into garage for spontanious thunderstorm that rolled through) followed by cake, coffee and tea, followed promptly by dinner and of course more cake.

OMG, if you figure we only started brunch by noon, that's like eating every one to two hours. A proper Birthday Celebration if you ask me.

Then Monday, our actual birthday was very laid back - and full of doing absolutely nothing! OK, well, nothing particularly productive. We ate (more cake naturally) relaxed, enjoyed sunshine and our presents (check out the slack line!! so much fun) and Anjun of course.

Anjun had been working on a present for us... I thought it was going to be sleeping through the night, which he's gotten close to, once sleeping 6 hours strait... but nope that wasn't it. It was....... drum roll please..... TWO TEETH!!!!!!!!! omg, I must have said like 10 times 'Anjun has teeth!?' or 'I can't believe Anjun has teeth'. Crazy, for some reason I feel this is huge, like he's not a baby anymore or something. I just put my finger in his mouth (or rather, he grabbed my finger and bit down on it like he always does) and I really had to give myself a moment to realize what I was feeling on his bottom gums... One is totally out and the other you can see - it's coming quick.
whoa.
good times, great company, and a nice reminder to stay in the moment.
Enjoy the NOW!

Half a year!?
Amazing, we just watched some videos from Anjuns early days - and it's totally unbelievable how much he's grown, haw far he's come, and it's only been 6 months. We had his 6 month check up. They really don't do too much.. just ask a few questions, then flip him around in cirlces to check muscle and development things... although this time she had him look at her and she rattled a toy with a hand held far away, he turned his head to look at it and she said "ja, gut". So I guess that's .... yeah, good.
There are quite some skills that Anjun has now mastered. Sitting, turning objects around in his hand, recently when he's on his belly he tried to get his knees up to his chest.... so cute!
He also enjoys flying, on our hands, legs arms, shoulders, whatever!
And trying on hats.
Just yesterday he ate his first piece of food! Avacado. He was SO HAPPY to finally be able to put something in his mouth, bite it, and almost eat it. He's been chewing on air for weeks while he sees us eating and grabbing at food that we have at the table. And at last. He gets to try it out. Still working out the kinks. Two days of avacado and I'm pretty sure he hasn't actually swallowed any avacado. Oh well, live and learn.
Canada in 3 months, USA wedding in 5 months.... summer holidays...
excited.
LOVE all!
